The next Detroit area Stock Twits meet-up will be at Benzinga (and a chart of $GCP)

In May of 2015, with the help of the Head of Community Development at Stock Twits, Sean McLaughlin, I began organizing a monthly Stock Twits meet-up for Detroit area traders and investors. The goal of these meet-ups, and others like them across the country, is to network, share ideas with, and learn from other market participants. It’s been a lot of fun and I’ve met some really good traders and, better yet, some really good people.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve also gotten to know Jason Raznick, the CEO of Benzinga. For those of you that don’t know Benzinga, they provide actionable market information and daily trading ideas to investors and traders like you and me. Their high caliber content puts Main Street on the level of Wall Street when it comes to actionable information. And the fact that Benzinga is headquartered in Detroit has led to the first (annual?) Stock Twits meet-up at Benzinga.

This will be a really cool opportunity for retail traders to check out Benzinga’s financial news desk and real-time trading floor and to talk stocks and markets with some passionate and knowledgeable fellow traders and investors over some food and drinks. You can find details about the meet-up here. Come join us!

For those of you that don’t know about Benzinga, check out the below links:

Every trading day, they broadcast the “Pre-Market Prep Show,” for free!

You should also check out the national Fintech awards for innovation in capital markets, hosted by Josh Brown of CNBC or better known as @reformedbroker

And here is a chart I like for a potential break-out trade; $GCP is trending above all key moving averages with a recent consolidation near the 20 Day Moving Average.
